These boots represent what springtime means to Jill. When she received the boots she sat them on her desk for a couple weeks to get inspired. When Jill thought of rubber boots, her mind automatically went to rainy days and jumping in puddles. From there she thought of the song “April showers bring May flowers,” which is when she decided to focus on tulips, as they grow outside only in the spring after the rain comes. The verse and images flowed in her head and the concept came to life as she began to paint freehand on the boots.
